Mr Nikolas Bonaros is a senior consultant at Innsbruck University Hospital and an Associate Professor of Cardiac Surgery at the Medical University of Innsbruck. His main interests are totally endoscopic and minimally invasive coronary and valve procedures including robotics and 3D visualization. He is director of an interdisciplinary program for transcatheter aortic and mitral valve interventions in Innsbruck. He has participated in several multicenter trials on coronary surgery, hybrid coronary revascularization and sutureless and transcatheter valve interventions. His experimental interests focus on stem cell therapy and myocardial regeneration as well as on imaging techniques to facilitate minimally invasive procedures.
Mr Leonard Shapiro is an eminent cardiologists practicing in the Royal Papworth Hospital, university of Cambridge. He was trained in London and has developed many techniques for interventional cardiology and holds a number of patents for devices. He has been a university teacher for 30 years and has trained many generations of cardiologists in Cambridge. He is the medical adviser to the Football Association of England and has a specialist interest in sports cardiology. He has published more than 140 peer review articles and 12 textbooks.
