|Dr Andrew Johnston has been a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthetics at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge since 2006. He studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and then trained in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthetics in Newcastle, Nottingham, Cambridge and London. He completed an MD thesis on ‘Oxygen Supply/Demand Relationships After Acute Brain Injury’. He has a particular interest in long-term vascular access and is the medical lead for the Addenbrooke’s Vascular Access Team. Dr Johnston was appointed as Specialty Lead for the John Farman Intensive Care Unit in 2015 and has successfully led the large ICU team since then.|
|Dr. Vilas Navapurkar is the senior specialist clinician in general Intensive Care medicine in Addenbrooke’s Hospital where he has been a consultant for 20 years. He led the unit as Director of Intensive Care from 2010-2015. The care provided on the ICU is universally acknowledged to be world class in its outcomes and its patient-centred ethos.
