Sleeve gastrectomy for the treatment of morbid obesity

Emilio Manno Born in Sant'Anastasia (NA) on 06/06/61, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1987 with honors at the First Faculty. He obtained the specialization in Emergency Surgery at the faculty in 1993 (70/70). From 1991 to May 1993 he worked at the IRCSS Pascale Foundation. From May 1993 he was hired as a role assistant at the Cardarelli Hospital, initially working for the Division of Emergency Surgery and First Aid. Since 1996 he has been working at the Transplant Center (Liver Unit) and actively participates in the clinical assistance activity, dealing mainly with the treatment of liver tumors. He returned to the staff at the UOC of Emergency Surgery in 2000. In 2005 he began his activity at the UOC VI, starting the bariatric surgery, until then specialty not present in the hospital. He currently holds the position of head of the UOSD of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery, has to his credit more than 1,500 bariatric surgeries performed mainly in laparoscopy. In 1997 he obtained a diploma from the ACOI School of Laparoscopic Surgery and in 2006 that of Bariatric Surgery. He is regional delegate for the Campania region of the SICOB (Italian Obesity Surgery Society) where he is invited annually as a speaker and moderator. He is a national delegate for the Italian Society of Endocrine Surgery (SIEC) He is a member of the board of the MGB / OAGB Club. It regularly carries out didactic activities with training courses inside the hospital.
